The Purpose Of The 12 Steps

Yes, it is so you never have to drink again and can live happy, joyous, and free. But HOW does it work? So many people say they don’t know how it works.

It just came out of my mouth while I was talking to a newcomer – a person who says she has done the steps a billion times and still doesn’t know God…. a person who said that the 4th step is too shaming…

The purpose of doing the 12 steps is so that you can find out who you harmed and the harms that you caused so you can make amends and that will put you back in alignment with Natural Law – “Do Unto Others As You Would Have Others Do Unto You” = “Cause No Harm”, at which point you will be able to hear the voice of God and your life will fall into place where you can live in the 4th Dimension.

That is how it works – you surrender, you become willing to seek a Higher Power, you decide to give your life to God, you take action on your decision by looking at resentments/fear/conduct to find harms caused. You tell someone else, you become willing to be changed into someone who doesn’t do those things anymore, you ask to be changed, then you become ready to fix your mistakes, you go out and fix your mistakes – then when half way through fixing your mistakes, you get put back into the Natural Flow of things, and you start doing daily and nightly inventory so that you don’t get tangled up and harm people and fall out of The Flow again, you seek God’s Will for you, and you help others.

As the result of living this way, you no longer have the desire to drink again and you are under God’s care and protection, and you have access to unlimited power, as long as you continue to live this way, one day at a time.

That’s how it works.
