Cheerfully

When Trouble Comes Cheerfully Capitalize God’s Omnipotence! I had that title up and I had left out the word Cheerfully LOL!

I am sure glad they threw that in at the end. They had no trouble back then in the exuberant rise of AA! But I can use this now as AA plummets to it’s untimely death..

I was just online looking for Alanon for a friend of mine who’s husband has decided to quit drinking using a 30 days to sobriety health book. I found a website using the Alanon logo that, for an uninformed person, would look like Alanon – but alas it was a fucking treatment center. I am pretty sure this is running rampant for AA as well and now that we have published ANOTHER book that is the antithesis of our program – add to the list – the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, Living Sober, Daily Reflections, etc but this is the worst – because it replaces the Big Book – and the 5th Edition will probably seal the deal – now, I can really say – trouble has come, God! Please help us!

The collective of AA is too cowardly to stand up against this, just as the collective of order-followers are allowing, condoning and participating in the destruction of the earth itself – for their own individual selfish gain – so what about the few of us who know what is going on and yet can’t utilize strength in numbers?

Capitalize God’s Omnipotence! None of us get out of here alive! Practice patient endurance! CHEERFULLY!!! I just realized I left that out of the title.

To quote the spiritual book I was reading about this: “Giving in to temptation is pleasurable. Refraining from giving in to
temptation causes discomfort; a sort of inner tension is produced. However, that discomfort is where change occurs. You have to patiently endure it so you can learn to dissolve the inner tension by breathing in the right way, and so you can learn to let go of the temptation. This is all very transformative. And of course if you pray during the extra time you have as a result of not wasting time (distracting yourself), then that too is very transformative. Do you want to be transformed into the sort of (AA member) who can easily fly through (the steps)? Well, now you know where you can find that transformation. Now you know where all the change takes place. But do you have the patience needed to remain in that place, that place of suffering and discomfort, long enough to change in a significant way?”

In another part of the book, he says

“Whenever I experience a headache, or extreme hunger, or a barrage of insults, or whatever and say “Heck yeah! This is great!” I’m just welcoming suffering, albeit fairly enthusiastically. If you have enough understanding to see the benefits of patient endurance, and if you love making progress along the magical path, then you’ll love it whenever life hands you an opportunity to practice patient endurance.”

Who’da thunk it? Cheerfully Capitalizing God’s Omnipotence is where the most growth happens! I had to read it in this other book to get it! And I have this great opportunity to really experience it now. The guy gives a lot of Buddhist references for this practice and I will seek those out to help me – because I am alone in my plight, but I am so glad to be reminded. Can’t I Sarcastically Capitalize God’s Omnipotence? That would be so much easier for me!
